Dental Bridges in Rice Military

What is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a custom-made replacement for one or more missing teeth that literally bridges the gap where the teeth are missing. This dental restoration procedure is highly effective and is often recommended for patients who want to restore their smile, maintain the shape of their face, and prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of position. Dental bridges can be made from various materials, including porcelain, gold, alloys, or a combination of these materials. The bridge is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support, making it a semi-permanent solution that can last for many years with proper care.

The Dental Bridge Treatment Process

Initial Consultation and Treatment Planning

During the initial consultation, Dr. Amin will evaluate your oral health to determine if a dental bridge is the most suitable treatment option for you. This involves a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. If a dental bridge is deemed appropriate, Dr. Amin will discuss the different types of bridges available and recommend the best one based on your specific needs and preferences.

Preparation and Impression Taking

Once the treatment plan is established, the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth or teeth will be prepared. This involves reshaping these teeth by removing a portion of enamel to allow room for the dental bridge. After the teeth are prepared, impressions of the teeth are taken. These impressions will serve as a model from which the dental bridge, pontic (replacement tooth), and crowns will be made by a dental lab.

Placement of the Dental Bridge

When the custom-made dental bridge is ready, you'll return to Flo Dentistry for the final placement. Dr. Amin will carefully check and adjust the bridge as necessary to achieve a proper fit. The bridge is then fixed in place with dental cement, restoring the function and aesthetics of your smile.

Restores Function and Aesthetics

A dental bridge not only fills the gap left by missing teeth but also restores the function of your teeth. This means you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence. Plus, dental bridges are designed to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, ensuring a seamless and aesthetically pleasing result.

Prevents Teeth from Shifting

When you lose a tooth, the remaining teeth can shift out of position, leading to a range of issues, including a bad bite and gum disease. A dental bridge helps maintain the alignment of your teeth by filling the gap left by the missing tooth or teeth.

Long-lasting Solution

With proper care and regular dental check-ups, a dental bridge can last for many years. This makes it a cost-effective and long-term solution for replacing missing teeth.
